I just wanted to write to tell you that Cassandra had a great time at the USC camp! She loved the training stations on Saturday and quite frankly couldn't stop talking about it! She's usually pretty reserved, but the coaches on the hitting court really pushed her to excel! I greatly appreciate that because her confidence increased 100 fold! She's doing some beach volleyball this week and the confidence given has really pushed her to work even harder! She's still young, but it's great to see! It was great that Coach Haley puts so much effort into the camp. So often the head coaches say hello and then disappear until the end! It's a good thing! Thank you all for such a great experience!
I've attended the camp two times and my sister attended one other time! Always a good time. At the camp we worked hard and really got to experience the best campus and the best college athletic facility ever. I am a libero in high school now-I am definitely applying my USC skills in my very competitive league. I also attended a setter’s clinic. I'm not a setter but I know that knowledge helps me with on the court with my team. I always recommend this camp to my friends and teammates. I love USC, I love the Galen center and I love volleyball! Thanks for the good times!
The USC Volleyball Camp was the best we did all summer! We loved how small the groups were, with a lot of one-on-one training and a high ratio of instructor to student. Mick was always around and checking in on the kids. He was very involved throughout the camp which was really nice to see. We thought all the counselors were fantastic and that the camp was really well run. The kids got a lot out of it and we felt like it improved their game. We will be back next summer!
I really liked that the camp wasn't too big. There were two current or former USC players on every court and I felt like I was learning from the best. Coming from New York, it made me confident because I was playing with California players the same age as me and we were on the same level.
My daughter, Mia, has attended camp for the past two summers. Both years, she has been one of the youngest players but has never gotten anything but encouragement and support. She wants to go back every year through middle and high school and then would love to play for USC. She absolutely idolizes the players and I couldn't ask for better role models for my daughter than the student athletes of the USC Women's Volleyball Team. I also love that she meets other girls from all over the country who love volleyball as much as she does. After camp this year, she decided she wanted to try more competitive volleyball and we are looking into club teams. And recently, over 80 girls tried out for 20 slots on her middle school team and I am proud to say that she made the team. She would not have had this success or the drive to achieve more if she hadn't attended Mick Haley Volleyball camp. This is one camp that we will make a priority for each and every summer.
The camp was great fun and I learned so much volleyball. It was great to see the locker rooms and the gym that USC plays in.
Attending Mick's camp was an incredible experience filled with many fun memories. It was great to meet all the coaches. Some of the skills and techniques I learned have been extremely beneficial to me as I develop as a player. Meeting new players from across the region and country was a highlight. This is a camp that I would strongly encourage for everyone.
My daughter Jordan Mixon attended the USC Volleyball Camp in 2013. The training and campus experience will last her a lifetime. After attending we noticed a huge improvement in her game as well as her grades. We can’t thank Mick Haley and his team enough for putting together such a wonderful program. We can’t wait to attend future camps.
This camp was an amazing opportunity for me to attend! Within 3 days I had better ball control, better setting hands, and constant hits. I am hoping to attend the 2014 camp with my friend, and this time longer than 3 days! This was one memory I will never forget for three reasons: 1. I got to share this experience with my best friend. 2. I worked and extended my skills. 3. I got to meet a lot of new girls that share the same passion as I do!
Kat Brown attended last summer’s one day back row defensive clinic and said she learned more in one day at USC Camp than a whole season elsewhere. Thank-you and she will be attending the entire session next summer!
